About the Game
In Vexed, you assume the role of a Cursecatcher - a sorcerer who draws their power from humanity's emotional energies. Your deck represents the arsenal of seals which contain spirits and cursed objects you can summon. As you do battle with others, your power intensifies as you near defeat. Will you be able to keep control of your emotions as you ride the edge between power and insanity?
There are seven distinct emotional Archetypes, each one offering a unique playstyle. You may incorporate as many or as few Archetypes as you wish.
Aggressive, high-speed Archetype that quickly ramps up the game, pushing the players toward a decisive end—win or lose—as fast as possible.
Slow-tempo control Archetype that centers around stalling opponents and recycling cards, reflecting the melancholy cycles of nostalgia and regret.
Value-driven combo Archetype focused on acquiring and hoarding resources, aiming to win by possessing more options than the opponent.
Devious control Archetype that thrives by turning the opponent’s strengths against them—stealing, copying, and manipulating others' resources.
Finisher-heavy Archetype built around powerful cards that work best on their own, befitting the majesty, ego, and the solitude of standing above the rest.
Spellslinging Archetype focused on excess—rewarding aggressive spellcasting with escalating payoffs, rapidly driving the game to its climax.
Combo Archetype devoted to hunger and fuelled by sacrifice, it grows stronger by consuming its own resources to feed powerful cards and effects.
